Pye Tait Limited has significant experience in maintaining live databases of learning and course information. Over the last three years we have successfully completed another such project for two local Learning + Skills Councils.
Course providers continually change their provision throughout the year - not only in terms of dropping courses and introducing new ones, but also in terms of pricing, locations, stopping and starting the same course throughout the year... and so on; therefore the constant updating of information is vital.
Initially, we conducted primary and secondary research on all training opportunities within the clients' localities. Data gathered from providers' prospectuses, flyers, emails and websites was then input into a database which fed into a regional website that could be accessed by potential learners from the post-14 age group to adults. The data was then maintained by Pye Tait on a rolling basis.
The data gathered also provided specific information for the local LSCs and IAG Advisors. Our clients were most impressed with the results and the way the projects were handled.
The most recent project ran through to December 2006 and we are pleased to publish a testimonial from our client (details are available to bona fide enquirers on request).
Updating & maintaining course information
(May 2004 to December 2006)
"...I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues at Pye Tait for the excellent work which you have carried out for us over the last two years or so."
"When this project started and we handed the... database to you, it is fair to say that there was not a great deal of useful or current information there for you to work with and that the project was started almost from scratch."
"It is evident that a great deal of work has gone into collecting and entering data and building the project. I think it is also fair to say that while carrying this work out there have been many challenges, both in terms of the size of the task and also managing the relationships and politics which are associated with this project."
"I am pleased to say that I think you and your organisation have managed this whole project and the issues mentioned above extremely professionally at all times. As well as that you have played a massive part in making the ... database ... what it is today, which is a comprehensive and current database of information on learning opportunities in the county. From discussions we have had I do honestly believe that if you were to run this project permanently and it took on board your dynamic ideas then the overall project ... could actually be improved."
"I would have no hesitation in using your organisation for any relevant work in the future, and on a personal note have found our working relationship to be very pleasant at all times."
