Biotechnology is currently one of the major growth industries within the Life Sciences sector. Initiated in the US in the 1980s it is now the fastest growing area of the highly lucrative pharmaceuticals business. The UK government recognises its importance to the economic growth of the country.

Pye Tait has been appointed by a Life Sciences incubator organisation to review the current skills levels regarding technical manufacturing and the future importance of these areas in Merseyside. This information will then be used to highlight any gaps in provision within the sector. The work will result in an action plan for the organisation and partners such as the LSC and North West Development Agency to help ensure the highly skilled workforce continues to grow and develop.
